Long Time

Long time no Blogging... Hey folks, I made my Fantasy League playoffs...W00t!! What a crazy year in fantasy football. I have done more coaching and waiver wire watching than ever! Look to be coming into the playoffs with a pretty good team. May even have a chance to win out. (Knock on wood) My sleeper pick this year, Chris Johnson, sure has been just that. I lucked out with my second QB pick in Jay Cutler. I was one of the many who lost Tom Brady first game of the year but , while most people scrambled all season to make up for that loss, Jay has been an excellent #1 quarterback. My late pickup of both Tyler Thigpen and Lance Moore, have proven to be great roundouts for my lineup. I will post an update of the playoff results.

Set to GO BIG!!!

Everything points to Chris Johnson having a big game on Sunday. The Chiefs are in a "rebuilding year" but can never be counted out. To many teams have proved that, especially last week. We saw losing teams beat 3 teams in the undisputed, strongest division in football, the NFC East. Coach Fisher is not taking this team lightly.
“It’s a much younger team,” Fisher said. “There’s 17 rookies on the roster (actually 16) and I think there’s 26 players on the roster with two years or less of experience (actually 25.) They’re just getting better and better. Coach Edwards was upfront about their plan. They had to rebuild and were going to take their lumps and they’ve won a ball game against a very good team. Four of the five teams they’ve played this year have winning records and we can’t say that for ourselves. And they beat a team with a winning record. You can make all you want about our records right now but this is going to be a tough ball game.”

Any team can beat any team in the NFL on any Sunday. But... not this Sunday. The Chiefs cannot stop the run and with deactivation of Johnson from their roster, the Titans opponent has just lost the player with 3 of the 7 touchdowns his team has scored all year. I am also a little bias in that Chris Johnson is on my fantasy team and I need him to have a big game to keep my win streak going.

Hello....homework!!!

Does anyone do their homework any more? Ocho Cinco, his agent, his Publicist, and others couldn't have found out before the name change, as well as NFL officials, that it would be a Ocho No-No conflict? Reebok has many, many dollars keeping Chad from pulling his plan off. First try did not work and second attempt looks like it is going to fail as well. OK, my point is that the NFL is one of the biggest companies in the world and no one felt this out? I mean, it changed his name on my fantasy league. It's not like that happens without some effort from some IT Cronies slaving away, making big bucks just to change it all back. I play fantasy football on NFL network. You don't think that their IT guys are making good money just to change that name back? I have seen at least six articles about this completely unworthy sports news story to ever hit the NFL news circuit. Also, why did Reebok wait until his name was changed to protest? As my links show, it was common knowledge. This is all a very trumped up attempt to sell more jerseys and make more money for folks that have to much already. At least I have started the number one sleeper in fantasy football(not just my opinion), Chris Johnson, against Cincinnati and their silly receiver. Also, the authors of this blog are playing each other in fantasy football this weekend and my opponent has Ocho No-No as a WR. I will update on the results. Should be a good event considering how competitive we are.
